Fully Committed to Him: A Reflection on Sunday’s Sermon
By Pastor Ernesto Sanchez
This past Sunday, our congregation gathered to hear the final message in our sermon series, The Commitment of Faith, and it was a moment of joy and deep reflection for many. The message, titled Fully Committed to Him, reminded us of the importance of not just running the race of faith but doing so with our whole hearts committed to God.
The focus was on two powerful scripture passages: Jeremiah 29:11-15 and Romans 8:24-28. We were reminded that God has a plan for each one of us, a plan full of hope and a future, just as the prophet Jeremiah spoke of. But more than that, we were challenged to seek God with all of our hearts—to be fully committed, not just in moments of ease, but especially in times of uncertainty and growth.
During the sermon, we reflected on the powerful truth from Romans 8, where Paul speaks of hope in what we do not yet see. As a church, we were encouraged by the promise that in all things, God is working for the good of those who love Him. It was a message that hit home for many of us, as we are witnessing our church in a season of growth. New faces have been joining us, and the energy within our congregation is building. But this growth comes with a call to action—a call to deeper faith and greater commitment to one another and to God’s mission for our church.
The challenge that was placed before us was clear: Are we fully committed to God? Are we ready to seek Him daily and to trust in the plans He has for our future, both as individuals and as a community of faith? It was a question that caused many of us to reflect on our personal journey, and it sparked a sense of renewal in our collective mission as a church.
Sunday’s message also reminded us of the Holy Spirit’s work in our lives. Even when we don’t know what to pray for, or when we feel weak, the Spirit is interceding on our behalf, guiding us according to God’s will. This truth brought comfort and reassurance to many, as we realize that we are never alone in this journey.
As we concluded the series, the atmosphere in the church was one of hopeful expectation. There was a strong sense that God is moving in our midst and that He is calling each of us to a higher level of commitment. The altar was filled with those seeking prayer and dedicating themselves more fully to God’s purpose for their lives.
Looking back on this powerful message, I am filled with gratitude for the work God is doing at Aubrey FUMC. We are not just growing in numbers; we are growing in faith, unity, and purpose. The future is bright, and we are walking forward, fully committed to Him, trusting in His plans for our church and our community.
May we continue to seek Him with all our hearts, knowing that His plans for us are good, and may we remain fully committed to the work He is calling us to.
Blessings,
