Pastor's Bio

Pastor Ernesto Sánchez serves as the pastor of First United Methodist Church of Aubrey and First United Methodist Church of Sanger in North Texas. Born in Brooklyn, New York, and raised in both the mainland United States and Puerto Rico, he brings a multicultural heart and deep compassion to ministry.

Before becoming a pastor, Pastor Sánchez served in the United States Army. His military calling continued even as he entered ministry, faithfully serving both church and country at the same time for many years. He completed his military service in 2021, bringing that chapter to a proud close.

His years of service, including a deployment in Africa, shaped his heart for people and strengthened his commitment to leading with courage, love, and humility.

Pastor Sánchez is passionate about helping people grow in their faith, welcoming new families into the life of the church, and launching ministries that connect with the community. He is also a musician, a chess enthusiast, an author, a traveler, and someone who loves using technology creatively for ministry.

He and his wife, Yvette, are grateful to serve the communities of Aubrey and Sanger and would love to welcome you into the mission and fellowship of the church.
